Aurora High icers ousted from tourney; boys hoops team loses 102-57

The Aurora Greenmen ice hockey team was eliminated Tuesday night in the first round of the state tournament, as Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy scored a goal early in the second overtime for a 4-3 victory.

Aurora ended the season with a 14-13-1 record. CVCA moves on to play No. 2 seeded Walsh Jesuit on Saturday at 5:15 p.m. at the Kent State University Ice Arena.

Meanwhile, the Aurora varsity boys basketball team was hammered by Copley 102-57 in a Suburban League American Conference game Tuesday. Copley is undefeated in 19 games.

No scoring figures were available. The Greenmen dropped to 6-13 overall and 2-9 in the conference, They will travel to Kirtland on Feb. 21, host Crestwood on Feb. 22 and play at Tallmadge on Feb. 24 to close the regular season.
