Capturing fourth place was sophomore Kyle Petersen, who was defeated in the third-place match at 106 pounds by a Louisville grappler.

Petersen beat the fourth and 12th ranked grapplers in the state, and Papesh said it was the best he has seen him wrestle. He posted a 6-2 record.

Andrew Garr won won two matches before losing by one point to a West Virginia state champion. He went on to win another match, but hurt his arm and defaulting to eighth place.

Dom Stuber also placed eighth at 145 pounds, pinning one foe, getting a takedown in the last two seconds for another win, losing to the eventual champ and then beating a St. Vincent-St. Mary foe.

Also winning matches were Will McGhee, Ryan Scantland, Colin McNamara, Jake Loudon, Conor Bizjak and Mason Copley.

Papesh was pleased with the team's performance. "Taking fifth at such a tough tournament without returning state placer Bubba Arslanian was very satisfying," he said.
