Lodi -- With its top two runners -- the Grohe twins -- absent, the Greenmen girls runners placed fifth out of 22 teams in the varsity race at the Todd Clark Invitational at Cloverleaf High on Sept. 24.
Aurora finished behind Shaker Heights, Massillon Jackson, Gilmour Academy and Stow-Munroe Falls. The girls B team placed 16th.
Meanwhile, the boys varsity placed eighth out of 22 squads, with Brecksville-Broadview Heights and Massillon Jackson taking the top two spots.
Leading the girls varsity was Brynn Sesny, 10th overall in 20:11.92.
She was followed by Madeline Schmitt, 28th in 20:59.77; Karsen Zabell, 32nd in 21:02.8; Katy Fellenstein, 35th in 21:07.36; Elizabeth Keller, 47th in 21:20.91; Elizabeth Barto, 73rd in 22:10.12; and Elizabeth Miller, 76th in 22:13.72.
The seven point-getters for the girls B team were: Shelby Adler, 86th; Hailey Adler, 87th; Makenna Kish, 90th; Kate Walton, 92nd; Caroline Caputo, 106th; Abbey Stechler, 107th; and Santina Burdick, 117th.
Leading the boys varsity was Robbie Taylor, 22nd in 17:13.57.
He was followed by Donovan Boyle, 29th in 17:23.58; Solomon Bibza, 36th in 17:34.93; Connor Brown, 70th in 18:13.92; Sam Siedel, 99th in 18:40.67; Michael Kaplan, 105th in 18:47.58; and Matthew Peluso, 107th in 18:50.73.
Three other varsity runners who did not score points were Zachary Jenkins, 113th; Zachary Thomas, 128th; and Ryan Markowitz, 136th.
Finishing in the top 100 in the girls open race were: Sara Gerber, 16th in 22:55.69; Emma Hesse, 18th in 23:01.01; Julia Brezovec, 28th in 23:19.52; Lauren Sapochetti, 47th in 23:50.66; Madison Demyan, 62nd in 24:08.83; Rachel Gavalier, 63rd in 24:09.13; and Olivia Pinney, 85th in 24:50.3.
Four boys made the top 110 in the open race. They were: Luke Calder, 77th in 20:01.28; Tyler Liston, 93rd in 20:15.38; Jack Deptola, 98th in 20:18.08; and Logan Adler, 106th in 20:22.1.
The Greenmen will compete in the Woodridge Bulldog Invitational on Oct. 1 in the Kendall Hills area of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Fans attending the event must park at Woodridge High School on Quick Road in Cuyahoga Falls and will be taken on shuttle buses to the site.
High school races begin at noon. Harmon School's runners will compete in the middle school competition, which begins at 9:30 a.m.
