Aurora High boys golfers third in tourney

Aurora -- The Greenmen boys golf team opened play last week by taking third place in the Suburban League American Conference preseason tournament.

Medina Highland was the champion of the tourney with a score of 324. Revere finished as runnerup at 326 and Aurora came in with 340.

Senior Jack Schroeder led the Greenmen with an 81 on the par 70 Windmill Lakes layout in Ravenna. Jeremy Thorn added an 84, Michael Avalon an 87 and Will Snyder an 88.

Rounding out the team scores were Copley 350, Kent Roosevelt 356, Tallmadge 392 and Barberton 410.

Copley's J.T. Forster and Revere's Jon Dye each shot a 77 to share medalist honors.

Hudson won the National Conference title with 310, followed by Twinsburg 329, Nordonia 330, North Royalton 331, Brecksville 337, Stow-Munroe Falls 339, Wadsworth 356 and Cuyahoga Falls 380.

A.J. Coy of Twinsburg was medalist at 74.
