Aurora’s team in the Continental Amateur Baseball League 17U High School World Series fared well in action on Aurora Field 5 over the weekend. Aurora won all of its six games played at Aurora’s Ed Sherwin Field over the weekend, beating Ohio Stealth 4-3, Jefferson Wild 8-1, Shaker Heights Raiders 9-0, Swing 7 Elite 6-5, Wisconsin All-Stars 12-3 and Force 4-1. Matt Carpenter, the father of player Matt, is the head coach of the local team. Other undefeated teams in the weekend tourney were Captains Baseball Academy (6-0), Florida Legends (5-0) and Lake Erie Bulldogs (4-0). Bergen Beach, N.Y., Premier Athletics and Euclid Legion all had only one loss.
