Leading 3-2 heading into the top of the seventh inning, the Aurora Greenmen softball team saw Kent Roosevelt rally for a 7-5 victory and thus the Red Riders advanced to the Division I district finals Thursday (May 22).

The Greenmen's season is now over.

Kent is to play the winner of the Twinsburg-Nordonia game at 4:30 p.m. at Roxbury Elementary School in Solon.

Aurora suffered several errors in the field, which enabled Roosevelt to pull out the victory despite a fine pitching effort by Greenmen ace Nicole Doyle.

Aurora took leads of 2-0 and 3-1 in the first half of the game, including one run which came on a Devan Ternai home run.

The Greenmen trailed 7-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs and had the bases loaded. A single brought them to within 7-5, but the second runner was thrown out at the plate trying to score.
