After not being able to play for the first three days of the week because of weather, Aurora High School's varsity baseball and softball teams posted victories on Thursday.
The baseball squad raised its record to 10-7 with a 6-5 win over West Geauga in a Chagrin Valley Conference game. Luke Calcei was the winning pitcher as the Greenmen scored a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to grab the victory. Griff Petersen smacked a home run and had two RBI.
Meanwhile, the softball team upped its record to 9-3 with a 1-0 victory over Perry in a CVC game. Nicole Doyle was the winning pitcher and now stands 5-1. She struck out 15.
Barring rain, the baseball team is scheduled to play at West Geauga today (May 2) and the softballers are slated to host Independence, both in CVC contests.The baseballers are scheduled to play at Hudson on Saturday at 1 p.m.
