Aurora -- Four Aurora High School athletes signed letters of intent Feb. 5 at a national signing day ceremony at the high school.

They are George Bollas, who will play football for Division I Kent State University; Romel Pollard, who will play for Division II Malone University in Canton; Justin Wazbinski, who will play football for Ashland University; and Prayag Jina, who will play soccer at Bowling Green.

Bollas accounted for more than 5,500 total yards in two years as the Greenmen's starting quarterback. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder will play that position at KSU.

He was a Chagrin Valley Conference most valuable player, first team all-CVC, first team all-Northeast Ohio Inland District division III, third team all-state Division III and was on the CVC all-academic team.

"George is a very athletic, tough kid," said KSU coach Paul Haynes. "A lot of teams were recruiting him even to play on defense somewhere, that's the kind of kid he is. We'll put him at the quarterback spot, but he may be a kid down the road who could be at another position."

Pollard, a two-way starter at running back and defensive end, is 6 foot 3 and 200 pounds and will play defensive end/linebacker at Malone. He was a second team all-CVC pick as a senior and was honorable mention all-NEO Inland District Division III.

Wazbinski was a two-way starter at offensive tackle/defensive tackle. The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder will play on the defensive line at Ashland.

He was a first team all-CVC selection, first team all-NEO Inland District Division III, special mention all-state Division III and was on the CVC all-academic team.

Jina was a four-year starter for the Greenmen, won a sportsmanship award, was a co-captain, an all-CVC and Greater Cleveland division I all-district pick and was on the CVC all-academic team.
