Aurora youth wrestling beats Mayfield, Kenston in opening action

Junior Aurora Wrestlers (JAWs) kicked off its 2013-14 Northeast Ohio Youth Wrestling season over the weekend with a home event. And the locals started strong with head-to-head victories over Mayfield Heights and neighboring Kenston.

Against Mayfield Heights, the following boys earned victories by way of fall: Colin Musgrave, Nic Willingham, Ben Rogge, John Papesh, Jeffrey Burger and A.J. Barner. Earning victories by decision were Bo DiJulius and Shane Cheatham.

Next, JAWS dominated the Kenston Bombers by winning 14 of 17 matches. Nine of were won by fall. Earning those victories were Armen Perez, Robbie and Anthony Sagaris, DiJulius, Willingham, Cheatham, Rogge, Burger and Barner.

Winning their matches by decision were Marcus Perez, Dylan Delrosa, Jack Tartaglio, Brian Kennedy and Musgrave. Everitt Pennington and Ryan Papesh wrestled extremely well in their varsity debut, but came up short.

The JAWS team had many all-star wrestlers who competed well and gained valuable mat experience. They were Drayton Amrose, Jimmie Angelo, Michael Bajzel, Nick Barker, Lliam Baskette, Nicholas Berardi, Kyle Bizjak, Austin Cook, Mitchell Copley, Luke Geyer and Mason Giambrone.

Also, Austin Grossman, Tommy Hach, Justin Hartland, Colin Hawley, Gio Kaplan, Ryan Kotora, Marty and Isaac Lee, Ben Lukasik, Carson Palmer, Ashur and Bryer Pickana, Carter and Hunter Sabatino, Devon Salgado, Joseph and Jerome Scott, Aidan Lynch, Aidan Wetzel, Evan Yasenosky and Jack Zeid.

This weekend, the locals travel to Cuyahoga Heights, with Maple Heights also competing.
