Expansion of the Suburban League appears to be nearing completion, as the league now has commitments from nearly all invited schools.
Aurora and Brecksville-Broadview Heights are the schools the league is waiting for before moving ahead with its new two-division, eight-school alignment.
Kent Roosevelt and Barberton have committed to join current members Cloverleaf, Medina Highland, Copley, Tallmadge and Revere in the small school division. Aurora also has been invited to join those seven schools, and Aurora Superintendent Russ Bennett has said the district is planning to decide by the end of September.
On Wednesday, four schools — Stow-Munroe Falls, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson and Twinsburg — committed to join the big school division. Current members are Wadsworth and Nordonia. North Royalton also has committed.
More details on the newly aligned league is expected in the next couple of weeks.
