Twinsburg High School's girls basketball team saw its 43-game winning streak ended in the Division I state finals March 16 as Kettering Fairmont claimed the 2013 championship with a 52-48 victory.

Meanwhile, four Northeast Ohio boys varsity squads will compete this weekend in the state tournament.

The Tigers, who previously beat Aurora 72-29 in the sectional tourney at Akron Ellet, finished the season with a 29-1 record. The loss in the finals was their first to an Ohio team in 74 games. Fairmont, which finished 27-1, had lost to Twinsburg in the last two state title games.

Ashley Morrissette, who is headed to Purdue University, led the Tigers with 27 points. She was named Ohio's Ms. Basketball last week. Twinsburg had beaten Olentangy Orange 73-63 to gain a berth in the finals.

Hathaway Brown (23-6), a school in Shaker Heights, won its fifth straight Division II state title with a 56-44 win over West Holmes from Holmes County.

Other state champions were Anna in Division III -- a 67-49 winner over Columbus Africentric -- and Fort Loramie in Division IV -- a 57-42 victor over Berlin Hiland of Holmes County.
