Aurora girls, boys basketball teams lose CVC games

Aurora High School's varsity girls basketball team fell to 13-7 overall and 5-5 in the Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division with a 42-31 loss to Chagrin Falls on Saturday.

It was the final CVC game of the season. Chagrin Falls shared the title with Kenston.

Allison Howard led the Greenmen with 18 points. She was the only AHS player in double figures.

Meanwhile, the Aurora varsity boys (1-19 overall and 0-12 in the CVC) were edged by Kenston 60-59 on Friday night after leading the game by 6 points heading into the final period.

Paul Kollat, Drew Daff and Pavel Galchenko all had 11 points for the Greenmen.

The boys also lost to Kent Roosevelt 62-50 on Saturday as Nick Reminder had 13 points and Ben Branscom added 10.

Sectional-district tournament drawings are taking place today (Sunday) for the boys, who will play at Solon.
