Aurora girls hoopsters win two, boys and wrestlers lose

The Greenmen varsity girls basketball team extended its winning streak to three games Saturday night with a 66-20 Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division victory over Orange. The squad also beat Garfield Heights Trinity 59-38 in a non-league game Friday.

The locals' are now 5-3 in the CVC and 11-4 overall and will host Hudson on Wednesday (Jan. 30).

Against Orange, Danielle Lasky had 14 points, Allison Howard had 12 points and Erin McNamara added 10. Eleven girls scored.

Against Trinity, Camilla Brown canned 24 points and Howard had 13.

Meanwhile, the varsity boys dropped to 1-14 overall with a 40-32 CVC Chagrin Division loss to Perry as Ben Branscom led the way with 13 points.

In the Cable 9 triangular wrestling meet, Aurora lost to Nordonia 55-9d and Twinsburg 42-30.

The boys swim team beat Twinsburg 111-71 on Friday night, while the girls lost 114-72.

No results were available from Friday night's ice hockey match.
