PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREES
Aurora Chapter 96 of the Public Employees Retirees Inc. will meet April 10 at the Bertram Inn and Confernce Center in Aurora. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Cost of lunch is $11 per person. The guest speaker will be a representative of Express Scripts.
BLOSSOM WOMEN'S UNIT
The Aurora Blossom Women's Committee will host a spring fundraiser to benefit the Cleveland Orchestra on May 22, with a luncheon at the Barn in Walden beginning at 11:30 a.m. Seating is limited.
There will be a raffle which includes a one-night stay at the Five-Star Walden Inn, two spa treatments and dinner at the Barn.
Tickets can be obtained by calling Diane Albright at 330-562-5448. Raffle tickets are $20.
Entertainment will be provided by violinist Ariel Clayton, who enjoys teaching and performing throughout Northeast Ohio. She has performed with City Music Cleveland, and currently is guest concertmaster for the Suburban Symphony Orchestra.
Her chamber ensemble -- Opus 216 -- gave the inaugural public performance at the first evening event in the Cleveland Museum of Art's new atrium in the fall of 2012.

TWINSBURG GARDEN CLUB
The next meeting of the Twinsburg Garden Club will be April 11 at the Twinsburg Senior Center. After the 6:30 p.m. meting there will be refreshments and a lecture describing the differences between terrariums and fairy gardens.
The group later will create its own fairy garden. Guests are welcome, but space is limited. Cost for guests is $10 and preregistration is required with Nancy King at 330-608-7017 or Karen Fullerman at 330-425-3626 before April 7.

MANTUA ROTARY CLUB
This year, the Rotary Club of Mantua's Farmers Market is going to specialize in growing and selling heirloom vegetables and flowers.
On April 16, Rudy Moyer will speak about "Growing favorite heirloom vegetables, starting seeds, fertilizers, and more" at the Rotary Club's meeting at 6:15 p.m. at Hilltop Church in Mantua.
In 1996, Moyer was Stark County Master Gardener of the year. From 1997-99 he was president of the Stark County Master Gardeners, and works as a farm supervisor for the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. He is involved in growing and selling crops to local restaurants.
Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of Mantua is sponsoring its second public meeting on fracking in Ohio on April 23, when Mary Greer will speak about the "Impact of Fracking on Water."
She is the coordinator for the Shalersville branch of the Concerned Citizens of Portage County, a group that grew out of concern for the impact of fracking in Ohio and Portage County.
Both meetings are open to the public. Cost of dinner is $8 or area residents can attend the 6:50 p.m. programs for free. RSVP is required because of limited seating. Call Dean Olson at 330-351-3035
