Angelo Vespucci 78 of Aurora died Thursday, August 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 5, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Gaetano and Angelina (DeRusso) Vespucci. Angelo was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Aurora and the Solon Italian Club.
Survivors include his wife Margaret “Peggy” (Stadler) Vespucci, daughters Angela (Andy Foxall) Mazzotta of Aurora and Anna (Mark) Kralis of Warsaw, IN, sons Guy of Cleveland and Christopher (Anjie) of Streetsboro, stepdaughters Barbara (Allen) Hays of Ravenna and Laura (John) Miles of New Hampshire, 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a sister Antoinette Creed of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Santina, son, William, sister, Pauline and brothers, Tom and Ralph.
Calling hours will be from 12 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Aurora. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Northfield. Angelo (Papa) was not only notorious for his “Papa toast” and extraordinary pasta sauce, but he also had a way of making people fight over his last batch of cookies, teasing people, and giving the best nicknames. Most of all, Papa was known for his generosity, pure heart, and consistent love, all of which will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
