Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated April 2 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Aurora for James G. Courtad, 81, who died March 23, 2013 at Twinsburg Medical Center.

Born in Cleveland on April 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Raymond and Eleanor (Lally) Courtad. Formerly of Northfield, he had been a resident of Aurora since 1998.

He served his country in the U.S,. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 0196 in Brecksville. He worked for Ford Motor Co.'s Walton Hills Division as a supervisor, retiring in 1985 after 25 years.

He was a longtime member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Northfield, and was presently a member of Our Lady in Aurora. He was an avid sports fan with his wife, and enjoyed attending games that his grandsons played in.

He married his wife Cathryn (Adams) on Sept. 3, 1951. He survivors along with the following: son Dennis (Mary Chris) Courtad of Aurora; sister Anna Marie Courtad; grandsons Christopher, Timothy, Thomas and Nicholas Courtad of Aurora; and great grandchildren Cole, Kara, Curt, Cal, Carmen, Camryn, Vincent, Dominic, Rocco, Presley and Roman.

The Rev. James M. Daprile will officiate at the Mass. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 a.m. until the Mass. He will be buried in Aurora Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Marine Corp, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post 193.

Memorials can be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church's hunger center, 2486 W. 114th St., Cleveland. Arrangements are being handled by Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory. Service in Mantua.
