Aurora Historical Society's next gathering will be a dinner meeting May 15 at the Aurora Club. Cash bar is available at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7.
Charlene Connors from the Lakewood Library's Women in History series will portray the life of Cassie Chadwick, the most infamous Cleveland financial con artist.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The next networking luncheon will be May 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the Aurora Inn. Cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members.
Speaker will be Ron McDaniel, an author and employee evangelist trainer, whose topic will be "Buzz Marketing." Reservations are requested by calling the Chamber at 330-562-3355 by May 16.
The Chamber's business and community golf outing will be June 5 at noon at the Aurora Club. Sponsorship levels are available, including premier, $1,200; hole, $250; and tee, $100.
Cost to play is $125 per person, including dinner.
The Aurora WineFest will be Sept. 13 at ThornCreek Winery and Gardens. Vintage sponsors are Aurora Manor and Heinen's. Other Vintage sponsors, as well as Vineyard and Wine Cellar sponsors are needed.
TWINSBURG GARDEN
Stanley Stine, city of Twinsburg naturalist for the last nine years, will present "Introduction to Wildflowers" at the Twinsburg Garden Club's May 8 meeting.
Many of the wildflowers he will discuss can be found in Twinsburg's green spaces, including Liberty Park.
Stine conducts nature walks, which are designed to be educational and fun, and feature Twinsburg's unique natural areas. Call 330-963-8704 for more information on the walks.
The club's meeting will be in the senior center on Ravenna Road and begins at 6:30 p.m. Stine's presentation will start at 7. The meeting is free and open to the public.

PORTAGE GARDENERS
The Portage County Gardeners annual May Mart plant sale will be May 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Portage County Gardeners Center, 5154 S. Prospect St. (Route 44) between Ravenna and Rootstown.
The sale will include locally grown perennials, annuals, wildflowers, herbs, hanging baskets and planted patio pots. There also will be a gently used shop, garden raffle and bake sale.
The event features gardening demonstrations starting at 10 a.m. about gourd growing, container gardening, going herbal-green, upside-down hanging baskets and living wreaths.
There will be make-and-take activities for children, and the Portage Park District's bio bus will be on hand.
