Wins Heritage Ohio Best Promotion Project.

Heritage Ohio will honor Oz2 Design Group, Inc and Downtown Wadsworth, Inc at their Annual Preservation & Revitalization Conference Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Bowling Green, Ohio by presenting them with the Ohio's Best Downtown Promotion award.
Heritage Ohio was developed as a statewide, not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and assisting people to protect and preserve our heritage. Historic preservation and downtown revitalization are vitally important in the movements to protect the buildings, landscapes, art, artifacts and landmarks we have inherited.
Oz2 Design Group, Inc and Downtown Wadsworth, Inc were chosen for this award based on their promotion, education, maintenance, and preservation of a downtown identity for Wadsworth, Ohio.
During 2007, Downtown Wadsworth put on 10 major downtown events and, with the expertise of its Promotion Committee staffed by Oz2 Productions and chaired by Jim Cordas attracted thousands of people to the downtown, exemplifying its motto: "Where the community comes together." With additional efforts of its Promotion Committee, it also held monthly community meetings, produced monthly television programs, and helped create a local history textbook that furthered and broadened the reach of its mission.
"We appreciate receiving this award. The hard work and dedication of our volunteers have paid off for the city and the Downtown," said Cordas.
Partners on the project were Jim Cordas, Jack Ollom and the DW Event Committee volunteer group.

Downtown Wadsworth Inc., is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation with a mission "to promote, educate, maintain, and preserve a downtown identity that will continually advance the quality of the entire community's social, cultural, and commercial environment." To achieve this mission, the members of Downtown Wadsworth created a Strategic Plan with five major goals and numerous strategies for achieving the goals.
