Aurora -- A woman who owns an ice cream stand near the intersection of outes 43 and 82 reported that the sign in front of the business had been vandalized.
Officers who checked out the scene said a plastic piece of the sign was knocked off, but it could not be determined how. The owner estimated the repair or replacement cost at $10,000.
Theft, criminal mischief
April 10 -- Items stolen. An Old Mill Road man reported someone pried open the back of his truck and removed some supplies. No estimate of the loss was given.
April 12 -- Window broken. A Lloyd Avenue resident reported someone was knocking on the windows at the home. Shortly after, it was discovered something had been thrown at the window and it was broken. No damage estimate was given.
Arrested on warrants
April 11 -- During an investigation into a suspicious vehicle on Campus Drive, officers found two men were on break from a nearby company. They arrested one man, a Kent resident, on a warrant from Portage County and turned him over to sheriff's deputies.
April 15 -- During a traffic stop in the 200 block of North Aurora Road, two passengers from Streetsboro were arrested on warrants from Kent and Twinsburg police. The driver was cited for having expired license plates.
April 16 -- During a traffic stop in the 1200 block of East Mennonite Road, officers found a Mantua man was wanted on a warrant. He was given a summons for possessing drug paraphernalia and was turned over to Portage County sheriff's deputies.
Traffic-related cases
April 10 -- Car in ditch. A Uniontown man was cited for failure to control after police said he changed lanes on Lena Drive and struck the left doors of an Aurora woman's vehicle. No injuries or damage estimate was reported.
April 10 -- Lot mishap. Police said a collision occurred in a parking lot in the 100 block of North Chillicothe Road when two Aurora women were backing out of spaces. No damage estimate was given.
April 10 -- OVI citation. A Chagrin Falls man was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and not maintaining control after he went into a ditch in the 1200 block of Winchell Road. No injuries or damage estimate was reported.
April 12 -- Vehicle struck. No citation was issued after police said an Aurora woman tried to turn onto a side street and struck an Aurora man's stopped vehicle in the 100 block of West Garfield Road. No damage estimate was given.
April 13 -- Medical problem. Officers discovered a report of a possible drunken driver turned out to be a Reminderville man having some type of medical emergency. A rescue crew took him to St. Vincent Emergency Center in Solon.
April 13 -- Failing to stop. A Newbury man was cited for not yielding at a stop sign after he struck a Twinsburg man's vehicle at Route 82 and Cochran Road. No damage estimate was given.
April 13 -- Rear-end crash. A Garfield Heights woman was cited for assured clear distance after police said she struck a Stow man's vehicle in the 300 block of South Chillicothe Road. No damage estimate was given.
Miscellaneous cases
April 15 -- Handgun citation. During a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Bissell Road, officers spotted an unloaded handgun in the car. An Aurora man was cited for improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle.
April 16 -- Tenant matter. A city zoning department inspector reported he had received complaints about people living in a van parked at a rental property in the 100 block of North Aurora Road.
The property owner was contacted and said the property was rented and officers had his permission to resolve the matter. Officers contacted the tenant, who said the matter would be resolved.
