LAKEVIEW CHAPEL

OUR LADY CATHOLIC

The parish thanks the Knights of Columbus for donating audio visual materials to the religious education department and to SK Carpet Cleaning and Steve Kasunic for use of equipment and materials to clean parish center chairs.

New members welcomed recently were Greg Collins, Patricia Galaska and Paul Veverka.

The Rev. Joe Witmer is leading a Bible study on Matthew 26-28 on Tuesdays after the 9 a.m. Mass. Karen Yash is leading a Bible study on the book of Exodus on Mondays at 7 p.m.

The confirmation retreat will be April 5 at 11 a.m., with practice with sponsors at 4 p.m. Forms are available in the back of the church and office for vacation Bible school, which runs June 16 to 20 from 9 a.m. to noon.

A spring retreat for high school students will be April 12-13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centerville Mills Park. Cost is $35.

Frank Runyeon, noted actor and Christian speaker, will offer a dramatic interpretation of the Sermon on the Mount on April 17 at 7 p.m. He last visited OLPH in 2006. A free will offering will be collected.

The Knights of Columbus' pancake breakfast will be April 6 after the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Masses. All donations will benefit David's Ministry.

Other coming events are: April 3 -- small faith community at 9:45 a.m., Spirited Seniors at noon and choir practice at 7:30 p.m.

April 6 -- religious education for grades 6-8 and RCIA session at 9:45 a.m., and religious education for preschool-grade 1, co-op nursery and children's liturgy of the word at 10:30.

April 7 -- religious education for grades K-5 at 3:15 p.m. and Bible study at 7; April 8 -- Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at 9:30 a.m., Bible study at 9:45, religious education for grades K-5 at 3:15 p.m. and religious education for grades K-6 at 6:30.

AURORA MENNONITE

Wrestling Appreciation Sunday has been rescheduled for April 13. Speakers will be Joe and Jim Boardwine, who won state wrestling championships at Streetsboro, and Jim Kuchta, a coach and member of the SHS state title team. The service begins at 10:30 a.m. and guests are welcome to stay for lunch afterward.

Promise Keepers, an international ministry for men, will present OKAdventure "Grab Life by the Truth" April 12 at 8 a.m. at Cinemark in Valley View. More information is available from Pastor Drew Carroll. Cost is $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

BAINBRIDGE UCC

The church has a new organist -- Julie Hoffman.

She earned her bachelor's degree in piano performance from the College of Wooster, and has worked with the children's choir at the Federated Church, Chagrin Falls school, Chagrin Valley Little Theater and Stagecrafters.

A 24-hour women's retreat is planned May 9 and 10. It is called Chocolat. A sign-up sheet has been posted at the church.

The spring rummage sale will be April 25 and 26. The next Blanket Sunday is May 12. For $5, a double-sized wool blanket can be sent to a disaster area. Confirmation Sunday will be May 11.

KOL CHADASH

The congregation in Solon will host its annual second night of Passover Seder on April 20 at 6 p.m. at Signature of Solon off Route 43.

The facility and the congregation have joined together to provide members of both a gourmet Passover meal, including wine and Passover desserts prepared by Signature chef Wilfrido Marin, plus a service with Passover songs and prayers.

Plague bags and treats will be provided for the children. The Seder is open to the community. Cost is $36 for adults and children over 12 and $15 for children ages 5 to 12.

HOPE LUTHERAN

The couples and links Bible study will resume April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Richners' home on Hanes Road. For details, call 330-562-6841.

The next men's Bible study will be April 14 at 7:15 p.m. at Chuck Godale's home on East Pioneer Trail, and the women's Bible study will meet that night at 6:30 at Dolores Oberdorfer's Devorah Drive home.

Hope Christian Nursery School's movie night will be April 11 from 6 to 9. It is for children ages 2 to 10. Hot chocolate, juice, popcorn and snacks will be provided. A contribution of $5 per hour per child is asked. Call 330-562-8260 to register.

CHURCH IN AURORA

The 3H Circle will make fleece baby blankets April 4 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. Members will gather at the church at 9 a.m.

There will be a tour of the hospital and lunch at Eat-N-Park in Streetsboro. Participants should take sharp scissors. For details, call Marion Tarbell at 330-571-4500.

A bake sale sponsored by fifth- and sixth-grade church school classes will be April 13, with proceeds going to Heifer International.

A fundraising spaghetti dinner and silent auction for the work camp group will be April 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Aurora High School.

The Women's Guild will meet April 9 at 11:30 a.m. in fellowship hall. Patricia and Ron Chapman will speak about Noah's Lost Ark, a refuge and shelter for exotic animals south of Ravenna.

UNITED METHODIST

On April 13, Stephen Ministers from the church and Macedonia UMNC will conduct the morning worship. Girl Scout Sunday will be April 20. Three troops meet at the church.

VALLEY PRESBYTERIAN

A family game night sponsored by Heart of Valley Christian Preschool will be April 4 from 5 to 8. Installation of Pastor John Wahl will be May 4 at 4 p.m. Fair Trade coffee and chocolate sale will be April 20.

A new members class will be offered April 27 and May 4 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the library. New members will be received May 11.

The youths' home spring cleanup rummage and bake sale will be April 26 and 27. To schedule a dropoff, call Molly Moore at 440-543-1867. No clothing will be accepted.

Adult dinner night out will be April 11 at 6:30 at Doogan's in Aurora. Child care will be provided from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
