THE WOMEN'S LEAGUE

The Aurora Women's League will discuss its annual fundraiser at its April 15 meeting. A night at the races or a strawberry festival is being considered.

The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Howard Hanna Smythe Cramer community room. Board members also will be voted on. Anyone interested in holding or retaining a board seat should call Vicki at 330-995-0307.

The entertainment portion of the meeting will be Leyla Soleil showing belly dancing techniques, and then members and their daughters can take a full hour lesson.

Cost is $10 each per adult. Babysitting will be provided. Participants should take an appetizer or dessert to share.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Anti-aging guru Dr. Michael Roizen, chief wellness officer of the Cleveland Clinic, will be featured at a mini-health fair April 17 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Twinsburg.

The event will be hosted by the Aurora, Twinsburg and Solon Chambers of Commerce and sponsored by SouthPointe Hospital.

The mini-health fair will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m., with a luncheon program from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For Chamber members, the lunch price will be $20. For non-members, it will be $25. Reservations are required by April 11. Aurora Chamber members can call 330-562-3355 or e-mail jennifer@auroraohochamber.com.

Health-related businesses can reserve showcase tables at the health fair for $35 for Chamber members and $50 for non-members.

ANNA MARIA EVENTS

The campus of Anna Maria of Aurora hosted an Easter social featuring Peter Rabbit.

Families of residents, along with residents, staffers and their children, enjoyed treats, pictures with the rabbit and a drawing for two Easter baskets won by Aidan Baker and Grace Gannon.

The campus hosted a presentation by Dr. Theodore Suh titled "Finding Help for an Elderly Parent."

He is certified in geriatric medicine and medical director of the geriatric assessment program at Euclid Hospital and geriatric oncology clinic at Taussig Cancer Center of the Cleveland Clinic.

At the monthly men's luncheon, Aurora Historical Society member John Kudley presented a program titled "Aurora's Boys in World War I."

He explained the timeline of action experienced by Clare Eggleston, and showed memorabilia from the Eggleston family. Eggleston was one of two Aurora soldiers who died in Europe during the war.

TWINSBURG GARDEN

Deborah Davis, former horticulturalist for Sea World Ohio, will present a program on "Container Gardening" at the April 10 meeting of the Twinsburg Garden Club.

Davis now works for Daisy Hill Greenhouses in Hunting Valley. She also formerly was head horticulturist for the Columbus Zoo.

WR SINGLES NETWORK

Western Reserve Singles Network gets together the first Friday of each month for TGIF parties.

Upcoming parties are April 4 at Old Whedon Grille in Hudson and May 2 at Marcelita's Restaurant in Hudson. Guests can arrive after 5 p.m. and look for the WRSN table sign.
