VERA M. REBBIN

Taught dog obedience

A graveside service took place Feb. 20 at Acacia Park Cemetery in Mayfield Heights for Vera M. Rebbin, 90, of Aurora, who died Feb. 12 at Aurora Manor.

Born Nov. 5, 1917 in East Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Birdie Schilling, and graduated from East Cleveland schools, then studied to be a hair stylist.

She married her husband John in 1942 and then resided in East Cleveland and later Willoughby, where she was active in Eastern Star. Mr. Rebbin served as City Councilman and acting mayor.

The couple opened Six Pence Kennels as a result of raising, showing and breeding pedigree Shelties, and later raised Maltese, earning many blue ribbons at area dog shows.

After moving to Aurora, they began teaching obedience classes for dogs. Mr. Rebbin died in 2006.

Survivors include daughter Sally (Robert) Smidt of Fallbrook, Calif.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Green Funeral Home in Mantua. The Rebbins' headstone reads: "Dogs Best Friends."

MARY F. FRANKHOUSER

Member of Mennonite

Services were Feb. 20 at Aurora Mennonite Church for Mary F. Frankhouser, 50, of Streetsboro, who died Feb. 16 at her residence.

Born Aug. 6, 1957 in Lancaster, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Florence Gehman.

A resident of Streetsboro for the past 26 years, she was employed as a licensed practical nurse for 25 years at the Hattie Larlham Center and was a member of Aurora Mennonite Church.

Survivors include her daughter Christina E. Frankhouser of Shalersville; sisters Joyce, Janet, Margaret and Carol Gehman of Strasburg, Pa.; and brothers Don Gehman of Gap, Pa., Paul Gehman of Harrisonburg, Pa., and William Meashy of Dothan, Ala.

Arrangements were handled by the Green Funeral Home in Mantua.

Vietnam War veteran

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Feb. 22 at St. Rita Church in Solon for James Carl Cash Sr., 60, of Aurora.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, his survivors include his wife Jacqueline (Shields); sons James Jr. (Angela) of Clearwater, Fla. and Ryan of Aurora; daughters Nicole (Stephen) Aron of Delray Beach, Fla, and Hayley Cash of Aurora; five grandchildren; and sisters Sandra Brex, Darlene Stewart and Sarah Cummins.

Burial was in All Souls Cemetery. Kindrich-Mc-Hugh-Steinbauer Funeral Home in Solon handled arrangements.
