The Feb. 24 sermon topic is "Loyalty Pays Off with a Husband -- Ruth," and is part of a series on characters in the Biblical book of Ruth.
Nursery and kids church are available during the service for infants to fifth-graders. Sunday school classes for adults and youths are offered at 9:30 a.m.
Church youths will join hundreds from Northeast Ohio for an evening with the Cavs on Feb. 29 sponsored by Greater Cleveland Youth for Christ and Campus Life.
The church hosts a men's Bible study Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. at Starbucks, and activities for youths and adults are Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
HOPE LUTHERAN
To participate in the church's Relay For Life effort call Dan Coleman at 330-562-9017. The next men's Bible study is Feb. 25 at 7:15 p.m. at Dave Rediger's home in Streetsboro.
A movie night for children 2 to 10 years old will Feb. 29 from 6 to 9 to raise funds for the church's building fund. Hot chocolate, juice, popcorn and snacks will be available. The AA group meets Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. Traditional worship is Sundays at 8:15, contemporary worship is at 10:15 and a service is Fridays at 10:30 a.m. at Independence Village.
OUR LADY CATHOLIC
During the Easter season, the church will adorn the altar with flowers. Donations for flowers are welcome in remembrance of deceased loved ones.
A general donation of $10 is suggested for each remembrance. Remembrances will be printed in the Eastern bulletin. Flower envelopes can be taken to the parish office or put in the weekly collections by March 16.
A number of children's books, videos and DVDs are missing from the church library. Those who borrowed them are asked to check their personal collections, and return any items belonging to the church.
An estate planning night is planned Feb. 25 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the parish center. Refreshments will be served afterward. Three speakers will address the audience.
A Red Cross bloodmobile is under way today (Feb. 20) from 1 to 7 p.m. in the parish center. A First Eucharist meeting for parents of the participants will be Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.
Youths in fourth grade or older can be altar servers at the church. Training will start soon. Forms are available in the kiosk at the back of the church. They must be returned to the office, and the youths will be contacted by Mark Burns.
CHURCH IN AURORA
A memorial service for Jane Roth will be Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. in the church. Easter flowers must be ordered by March 9. Forms are available on tables in the north or south chapel.
It's not too late to turn in faith promises for 2007. A work camp participate-parent meeting will be March 2 at 12:30 p.m. in fellowship hall.
Church members served lunch to 30 Habitat for Humanity workers recently. Kim Williamson and Martha Wagner delivered the meal. Cooks were Martin Braun, Elaine Duncan, Sandy Rowley, Ginny Miller, Wnnie Tucker and Heidi Thompson.
World Day of Prayer service will be March 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the church. The annual vacation Bible school will run June 16 to 20. Volunteers should call Jodie Fritinger at 330-995-3480.
UNITED METHODIST
The Wednesday night Logos program is in full swing. A potluck supper commences at 6, followed by activities at 6:30. Sunday school is Sundays at 9:15 a.m. and worship is at 10:30.
FIRST BAPTIST
The church is offering a small group study on Sunday evenings covering "Effective Parenting in a Defective World." It starts at 6 p.m. and is led by Mike Benson and Associate Pastor Drew Carroll. Child care is provided.
AWANA for youths meets Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. During that program, a coed Bible study is offered at 6:45 covering the Gospel of Luke. It is led by Senior Pastor Keith Missel and Bill Carr.
