LAKEVIEW CHAPEL

"Morning Conversations Can Energize" is the sermon topic for Jan. 20. It is part of the five-week series titled "Morning Routines."

Bible classes for adults and activities for children take place Wednesdays, 7 to 8 p.m. The nursery is open.

The church hosts a Bible study for men at 7:30 a.m. Thursdays at Starbucks. The current topic is "Men of Integrity." In January, the group is discussing the "Courage of One Man" through the Bible character Caleb.

OUR LADY CATHOLIC

A First Reconciliation retreat for parents and children will be tonight (Jan. 16) at 6:30. Sacrament of Reconciliation will be Jan. 23 at 7 p.m.

Bishop George V. Murry will be the celebrant and homilist for the 10th annual Mass for Life on Jan. 19 at noon at St. Dominic Parish in Youngstown.

A vigil of prayer for life will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m., and a youth rally will be at 10 a.m. After Mass, Nights of Columbus will host a spaghetti lunch.

PSR classes are canceled when Aurora schools are closed. If the weather gets bad during the day and children are in school, PSR will not be canceled for the after-school program.

Catholic Charities of Portage County will have its first Men Who Cook fundraiser to benefit the emergency/ prescription aid program.

It will be Feb. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall in Ravenna. Tickets are $30 per person. To order, call 330-297-7745.

CHURCH IN AURORA

A brief meeting for counting committee members will be Jan. 20 at 12:15 p.m. in the financial assistant's office. The endowment committee will meet Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall to review 2007 and look forward to 2008.

Margi and John McDonald invite the congregation to join them in a musical celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 20 at 3:30 p.m. A reception will be in the fellowship hall.

A sign-up sheet for coffee hours are on the bulletin board outside the kitchen in fellowship hall. A Red Cross bloodmobile will be at the church Jan. 21 from 1 to 7 p.m.

Workcampers are still taking orders on Sundays in January for Super Bowl Sunday subs. The sandwiches will available for pickup Feb. 3 in fellowship hall.

The annual congregational meeting will be Jan. 27 at 11 a.m., with only one worship service at 9:30 a.m. Nathan Pallotto received his God and Me Scout badge at a recent service.

HOPE LUTHERAN

The item of the month for donation to the Volunteers of America is canned soup. The AA group meets Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.

The church is seeking donations of bags of goods, including one new blanket, one new or like new book and one new or like new stuffed animal, plus any other nighttime items.

The couples/links Bible study will resume Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the Williamses' home on Kingston Drive. A soup and salad supper will be available and participants will watch Paul Meier's DVD series "Jesus, Legend or Lord?" Call 330-995-5439 if you plan to attend.
