For the second year in a row, it was the Cleveland Benedictine Bengals which ended the Greenmen boys' season in the Division II district semifinals at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. And this year's game was similar to last year's. In 2009, Aurora got out to a 20-16 lead after one quarter. In 2010, the locals led 15-10 near the end of the first period. The end result last year was a 71-48 loss, while this year the margin of defeat was a little more -- 73-36. Aurora, which ended the season with a 13-9 record, was led by Ty Watson with 9 points, while Mitch Knapp and Trayvon Nash each canned 8. Coach Brian Force did not respond to phone calls for comment on the outcome. Benedictine (19-4) went on to win the district title with a 46-35 victory over University School, which had defeated Kenston in three overtimes. The Bengals face Cleveland Collinwood on March 18 at 6:15 p.m. in the regional at Canton Memorial Civic Center. Comments
