He has been developing his style ever since, and his work has been shown extensively throughout Florida and Ohio. Isenhauer is a Kentucky native who recently earned his master of fine arts degree at the University of Cincinnati. Quorum lacking; parks and rec panel cancels Because of the lack of a quorum, the city's parks/recreation committee did not conduct any business at its March 4 scheduled meeting. Panelists John Kudley, George Horvat, Pete Conces and Nina DeWitt were present, but Dennis Kovach, Jim Vaca, Earl Biederman, Marcell Malecki and George Hettinger were absent. On the agenda was a contract proposal for the sound portion of the July 4 fireworks, a parks/rec department truck purchase and discussion of opening up deer hunting on city property. The committee meets on the first Thursday of each month. The next regularly scheduled session is April 1. Assistance is available; paramedics save man Mayor Lynn McGill told City Council at its March 8 meeting that applications for the city's assistance program are being sent out. Residents who are not currently enrolled in the program should call 330-995-9126 for an application. Qualifying income levels are as follows: $19,000 for a family of one to three people; $20,318 for four; and $20,318 plus $3,425 per additional person for more than four. The mayor noted that for the second time in the past few months the city's safety forces saved the life of a person. Paramedics were summoned to a local business when a 30-year-old man became ill. He went into cardiac arrest and was resuscitated. Eventually, he was transported to the Cleveland Clinic where it was discovered he had a genetic heart problem. A defibrillator/pacemaker was implanted and a week later he visited Fire Station 1 to thank the paramedics. Tea Party to meet in city The Portage County Tea Party will conduct an informational meeting for the citizens of Aurora on March 15 at 7 p.m. in the auditorum of Aurora High School. Anybody is welcome to attend. Comments
