Girls manage one win in last 4 games

The Aurora girls halted a three-game losing streak Dec. 15 with a 52-15 victory over Beachwood in a Chagrin Valley Conference crossover game, but then lost to Perry 50-35 on Dec. 18.

Heading into this week's action, the girls were 3-4 overall and 0-3 in the CVC Chagrin Division.

They were to play at Cuyahoga Falls on Dec. 21 and are scheduled to host Cardinal in a CVC crossover contest tonight (Dec. 23) at 7:30.

Against the Bison, Aurora got scoring from 11 players, with Allison Howard leading the way with 13 points. Alexa Debord added 8 and Heather Schroeder 7.

The Greenmen went up 22-4 after one quarter and then scored 10 points in each of the final three quarters. They led 32-8 at halftime.

Against the Pirates, Debord and Schroeder each had 7 points to lead the way.

Perry was up only 12-9 after one quarter, but had big second and third quarters, leading 26-15 at halftime and 44-24 after three.

Heading into this week's action, Kenston (6-1 overall) was leading the CVC Chagrin Division with a 3-0 record followed by Perry, Chagrin Falls and West Geauga all at 2-1.

Kirtland (6-0 overall) was leading the Valley Division with a 3-0 record, with Berkshire and Newbury at 2-1, while Independence and Cuyahoga Heights each were 2-0 in the Metro Division.

Coach Erika Schultz could not be reached for comment on the two recent games.
