LOUIE ODELL WILSON

Daughters live in town

A graveside service took place Sept. 9 at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township for Louie Odell Wilson, 88, who died Sept. 4 at Kensington Care Center in Aurora.

A resident of Mantua Township since 1967, she was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Ritchie County, W.Va., the daughter of the late French and Cora (Richards) Frederick.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing the banjo -- including with her daughters the Wilson Sisters.

She was a longtime member of the Mantua Country Baptist Church, where she was active with the Willing Workers.

Survivors include her daughters Pat (Bruce) Besmen of Streetsboro, Shirley (Eric) Damon and Dolores "Dee" Carpenter Aurora; sisters Gladys Duskey and Ellen Hardman of West Virginia; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James Earl Wilson, in 2001, daughters Olive Wilson in 1962 and Cora Sue Johnson in 2005, and son-in-law Ralph Carpenter in 1996.

Green Funeral Home in Mantua handled arrangements.
