OUR LADY CATHOLIC

After all Masses on May 17-18, there will be a display of hand-carved items such as nativity scenes, crucifixes, rosaries and religious statues.

In-person registration for PSR in the fall will take place May 18 after each Mass. Vacation Bible School will be June 16-20 with the theme "SonWorld Adventure Park."

A youth ministry dinner for seniors will be May 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. The youth will ride on a float in the Portage County bicentennial parade June 9 and will go to Cedar Point on June 11. Call Carol Rondini at 330-562-2541 or 216-287-5931 or e-mail carol.rondini@gmail.com.

May 18 will be Hospitality Sunday. Coffee and doughnuts will be available after the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and noon Masses.

May 15 activities are: small faith community at 9:45 a.m., Spirited Seniors at noon and choir practice and parish council at 7:30 p.m.

A marriage encounter session will be June 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Country Club Townhouse in Uniontown. For details, call 330-752-4777 or 330-697-0856.

The Diocese of Youngstown will sponsor wedding anniversary celebrations June 22 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown and Oct. 26 at St. John the Baptist in Canton. Couples wishing to participate should register in their parish.

FIRST BAPTIST

Today (May 14) is the last day to register for the men's group's free oil change for those in need. Signups are possible by calling the church office at 330-562-8233.

Every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Teen LifeSource meets for fun and excitement.

Vacation Bible school will run July 18 to 20 with the theme "Outrigger Island." Participants can enjoy Hawaii right in Northeast Ohio.

ST. JOSEPH CHURCH

The church in Mantua offers bingo Friday and Saturday nights at 7. There are $100 guaranteed payouts, magic ball jackpot giveaways and a variety of instant games.

Food and snacks are available, with free coffee all evening. Proceeds benefit children who attend the parish school.

Every paid admission during May receives an entry into the monthly drawing, and the winner gets free bingo each Saturday in June. For details, visit www.stjosephmantua.com or call 330-274-2253.

VALLEY PRESBYTERIAN

The Ruth Circle will meet tonight (May 14) at 7:30 at Linda Cozzone's home. An adult dinner night out took place recently at Doogan's in Aurora, with nearly 40 people participating.

Vacation Bible school will be July 21 to 25 with the theme "God's Big Backyard." Volunteers are needed and can call Donna Lucas at 440-564-9634.

Fair Trade coffee and chocolate sales will take place May 18 after the worship services in fellowship hall.

The Presbytery meeting will be May 28 at Valley. Volunteers are needed and can sign up on a sheet posted in the narthex.

June 6 will be a night at the theater to see "The Seven-Year Itch" at Chagrin Valley Little Theater. After the show, the Chittock family will serve dessert at their home. Adult tickets are $14 and price for students is $10.

UNITED METHODIST

Orders for Angel Food Ministry will be taken May 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. Delivery of food will be May 31. Basic units cost $30 and will feed a family of four for about one week. Call the office at 330-562-7866 for details.

The mission and outreach committee will have its annual rummage sale June 6-7. Donations can be taken to the church starting June 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays and 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Vacation bible school will take place July 13-17. A potluck dinner will be at 6 p.m. daily and the "Jerusalem Marketplace" program will be from 6:30 to 8:30.

CHURCH IN AURORA

Women's Guild will meet today (May 14) at 11:30 a.m. in fellowship hall. The church board's meeting will be May 19 at the Escape. A Red Cross bloodmobile also will be that day from 1 to 7 p.m.

The missions committee will support World Vision and its efforts to assist the victims of the Myanmar cyclone.

The 3-H Evening Group's meeting May 15 has been rescheduled to from 7 to 9 p.m. Next year's book "Praying God's Word" by Beth Moore will be available. For details, call Kathleen Horak at 330-562-1930.
