Sign designs approved for eatery, water park Two wall signs and a canopy sign were approved for Treichel's Grille at Aurora Farms Premium Outlets when the city's architectural board of review met April 24. The new restaurant will take over the space formerly occupied by a Mexican restaurant in the front of the complex, according to spokesman Bob Treichel. Also at the meeting, the board OK'd revised plans for an administrative building addition at the Outlets. General Manager Claude Hopkins said the only change is addition of a second window on the south elevation. The board approved plans for an entrance wall sign and a double-sided panel sign for Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom. It was noted the double-side sign will require a variance from the board of zoning appeals because of its height, size and location in the right of way. The panel also approved plans for a garage addition for John Kokinchak and an accessory building for Ben Beadle, and tabled plans for an accessory building for Alan Pollack. Planners meet tonight Final site plans will be considered for an expansion at Rotek Inc. and a new funeral home for Ferfolia Ltd. at the city planning commission's meeting tonight (May 7). Also on the agenda are a revised final site plan for Network Technologies on Danner Drive and a final plat for Lakeview Reserves subdivision on West Garfield Road. Also to be discussed are sidewalk requirements in R-1 and R-2 zoning districts, a topic that was referred to the panel by City Council. The session will start at 7. Ross earns art award Aurora resident Irene Ross received a judge's award for her ink drawing titled "Piper" at the annual Reminderville Arts Council show. Organizers said the show attracted 133 entries. It is displayed at the Municipal Center to support and encourage residents, families of residents and other regional artists to contribute their works. Next year, organizers hope to lift the limitation of allowing only hanging art, and include dimensional art such as sculpture pottery and carvings. Comments
