by Brent Hovey Reporter Aurora -- Behind a com-bined effort of the boys/girls teams, Aurora came away victorious in the Kenston Coed Relays on April 21. AHS pulled out a narrow victory over Kenston 154 to 151. Lake Catholic was third with 124 points and Beachwood and Mayfield tied for fourth with 82. The boys took first place in five events, finished second in five more and third in two. In only one event -- shotput -- did AHS's boys not place in the top three. First places came from the 4x1,600 relay (Matt Davis, Chris Denzinger, Eric Douglas and Mark Korosec), shuttle hurdles (Jamaal Simmons, Eric Schultz, Dee Brizzolara and Frederick Frantzen), 4x400 (Josh Ohman, Eric Shepard, Zach Flowers and Franztzen), sprint medley (Andrew Krieger, Steve Snyder, Brizzolara and Simmons) and distance medley (Ben Cech, Ohman, Korosec and Douglas. Seconds were recorded in the 4x200, 4x800, discus, long jump and high jump. Third were the pole vault and 4x100 relay team. On the girls side, Aurora posted one first place finish in the high jump (Jordan Curtis and Marissa McClung). Third went to the 4x1,600 (Caitlin Houlahan, Jamie Mervin, Jackie Taylor and Jasmine Johnson), 4x800 (Liesel Schmader, Danielle Lewandowski, Heather Schroeder and Annie Dankelson), sprint medley (Kahli Hale, Jessica Milner, Brooke Hradisky and Curtis), distance medley (Kelsey Fischer, Erica Aldrich, Jill Sweress and Brooke Eastman) and pole vault (Katie Davidoff and Breanna Boswell).
