VINTAGE VENTURE The 28th Vintage Venture senior citizens prom will be May 11 (Mothers Day) at Kent Roosevelt High School. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. The dinner will be catered by Guido's of Ravenna. Music will be by the Garrettones, a swing band from Garrettsville. Complimentary photos of guests will be taken, and a king and queen will be crowned. The event also will feature door prizes and a drawing. The event is being hosted by Realtors, friends and affiliates of the Portage County Association of Realtors. Free tickets are available and they must be presented to attend the Vintage Venture. Tickets are available at Howard Hanna Smythe Cramer in Aurora (330-562-6188) and Realty One in Aurora (330-562-2277) or the AOR office at 330-296-5451. GOURMET GALA United Way of Portage County raised more than $5,000 at this year second annual Gourmet Gala and silent auction, which took place April 13 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish center in Aurora. Providing hors d'oeuvres and dessert treats were Aladdin's Eatery, the Bistro and Mangiamo restaurants, Giant Eagle deli, Harry and David's, HoneyBaked Ham, JoAnn's Cakes and Candy, Cakes by Karin, Hiram College Food Services, LeGourmet Chef, Pufferbelly Restaurant, Rusty Nail Steakhouse-Banquet Hall and ThornCreek Winery. United Way President-CEO Steve Kleiber announced the 2007 campaign had yielded $1 million for dozens of partner agencies. Deluxe Corp. of Streetsboro hosted the event, which was sponsored by Meaden and Moore of Cleveland and the Record Publishing Co. Comments
