FIRST BAPTIST

Impact weekend will return May 3 and 4. On May 3, everyone is invited to Stow-Kent Lanes at 12:30 p.m. for two hours of fun. Cost is $7 per person at the door.

That evening will be a family potluck dinner at 5, with everyone providing a side dish or dessert. A speaker and the praise band will be on hand.

The weekend will conclude May 4 with another message from a speaker during regular service times. Call the church office for details.

My First School's 2008-09 enrollment is under way for ages 16 months to 5 years. Call Director DeDe White at 330-562-8070.

Men's basketball is offered Mondays at 7 p.m. for those 16 and older.

PARKSIDE CHURCH

BASICS 20008 is planned May 12 to 14. It is the annual pastors' conference for male pastors, missionaries, evangelists and Christian workers or those training for such roles.

The church is on Pettibone Road in Bainbridge. Guest speakers include author and Bible teacher Jerry Bridges, pastor and author Voddie Baucham and Parkside Senior Pastor Alistair Begg.

Christian recording artists Keith and Kristyn Getty will be the worship leaders. Visiting blogger Tim Challies also will be on hand.

Cost is $100 before April 21, $110 after that and half price for students. Registration is possible at www.parksidechurch.com or 440-543-1212.

BAINBRIDGE UCC

The annual spring rummage sale will be April 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and April 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The sale will offer household goods, small electrical appliances, clothing, jewelry, craft supplies, baskets, children's toys and books and games.

Homemade baked goods also will be available. The church is at 17751 Chillicothe Road (Route 306), just south of the Route 422 freeway.

HOPE LUTHERAN

Hope Nursery School's pen house will be April 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and April 18 from 9 to 11 a.m.

The pansy basket sale to support the church's building fund runs until April 20. A basket of 12 sells for $10. For details, call Kate Cardaman at 330-571-5450.

UNITED METHODIST

The United Methodist Women will have a tea for adults and girls May 4 at 2 p.m.

Cheryl Chlysta, Aurora's head librarian, will speak about the history of Nancy Drew. A free will offering will be taken to benefit the Philippi mission trip.

There will be an activity for youths under 8 years old. Call 3330-562-7866 for reservations.

The mission committee will sponsor a rummage sale June 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and June 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. Donations are needed, and should be taken to the church June 5 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

LAKEVIEW CHAPEL

The worship service will be April 20 at 10:45 a.m.. Nursery and kids church are available. Classes for age 3 to adults are at 9:30 a.m.

Adults will dig deeper into the word Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. There are activities for youths that evening at 6:45, and the nursery is open.

A Bible study for men meets Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. at Starbucks. For other information about the church, visit www.lakeviewchapelaurora.org.

CHURCH IN AURORA

The community is invited to the work camp group's spaghetti dinner fundraiser April 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the high school.

April 20 will be the annual offering devoted to the International Council of Community Churches. A special envelope will be provided.

An evening of dancing and music with Frank Sinatra (as portrayed by Michael Sonata) will be April 26 at Grantwood Golf Course. Church members can order tickets at $12 each from Cindy Hollo at 330-562-1810 or tweetyhollo@yahoo.com.

The spring rummage sale will be April 30 and May 1, with setup April 28 and 29. Donations can be placed on the stage in fellowship hall. To volunteer for the sale, call Joy Evans at 330-562-5663.

The church's Relay For Life team is sponsoring a bake sale April 27 after the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services.

Barkett Scholarship applications are being accepted from high school seniors. Deadline to apply is May 15 in the memorials mailbox. For details, call Sally Finet at 330-562-4149 or e-mail afinet@aol.com.

AURORA MENNONITE

A church work day will be April 19 to clean up around the church and grounds.

Pastor Naomi Engle will preach April 20 at Maplewood Christian Center in Ravenna. The next community dinner will be May 2.
