Aurora -- A call regarding a burglary in progress turned out to be a very different situation. The caller claimed a burglary was in progress at about 2:15 p.m. April 6 on Deepwoods Drive. Officers stopped three juvenile males exiting a home, but investigation revealed they were just visiting a friend. Officers said the caller wanted the boys to leave so he called police and provided false information. Charges of making a false report were filed and the Aurora man was given a summons to appear in court. Meanwhile, a Cleveland woman was taken to the Portage County Jail on April 8 after a report that she was lying in the middle of Route 43 near Geauga Lake Park. When Aurora officers arrived, they found Bainbridge officers had gotten the woman off the road. Aurora officers said the woman refused to answer questions and was verbally abusive to them. The woman was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and was taken to jail. Disputes, harassment April 3 -- Suspicious calls. A Parker Road resident reported he was receiving phone calls during which no one spoke when he answered. April 3 -- Missing child. A man on the near east side of town reported his juvenile daughter left the home and did not return or go to school. She was located in Kent with a friend a few hours later and returned to her father. April 5 -- Incorrigibility. A juvenile female was charged with incorrigibility and was referred to juvenile court after her father reported the girl left the home without permission. Officers said the situation has been ongoing. April 6 -- Domestic dispute. A parent and daughter reported a domestic situation between them. Officers said the two agreed there would be no more problems that evening and they would contact someone for possible crisis intervention. April 7 -- Harassment. A woman reported she was receiving numerous unwanted calls from her husband, whom she is in the process of divorcing. She and her son agreed to spend the night at a relative's house. April 8 -- Domestic dispute. Police picked up an Aurora man in Solon after a report that he was in a domestic dispute with his father. The man was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Portage County Jail. April 8 -- Student dispute. An Aurora couple visited the police station regarding an ongoing problem between their son and another student. Police said the parents indicated they had talked with school officials about the problem, but had seen the other student near their home recently. The report said the one student had made threatening comments at school to the other. Police said the school is handling the situation, but officers still may investigate. April 9 -- Domestic call. Officers were called to a home on the southeast side of town after a report of a domestic dispute between a married couple. No injuries were visible on either party, and the husband agreed not to return to the home when his wife is there. Theft, criminal mischief April 3 -- Credit fraud. An East Garfield Road woman reported someone used her credit card without authorization to make charges worth $2,730. April 4 -- Vandalism. Officers responded to a report of graffiti being spray-painted on a building on Sherwood Drive. No damage estimate was given. April 4 -- Credit fraud. A West Garfield Road woman reported someone had used her personal credit information in another state to make an unspecified amount of purchases. The woman said she contacted a credit watch company. April 6 -- Mischief. A Rock Creek Drive woman reported someone had toilet-papered her house during the night. April 7 -- Cash stolen. An Aurora woman reported that while she was at the high school someone took about $170 in cash from her purse and several gift cards. Arrested on warrant April 4 -- A Chagrin Falls man was arrested by Geauga County sheriff's deputies on an unspecified warrant from Aurora. He was picked up by Aurora officers and released on bond. Traffic-related cases April 3 -- Collision. No citations were issued at 3:45 p.m. on Aurora-Hudson Road after a Cuyahoga Falls woman backed up into an Aurora woman's vehicle while allowing a school bus to turn into the road from a school access road. No injuries were reported and no damage estimated was given. April 4 -- Bus passed. A school bus driver reported a car passed the stopped bus at 7:10 a.m. while it was loading children on Birchbark Trail. Police said the bus driver could not see a license plate number, and thus officers could not trace the vehicle's identity. April 4 -- Immigrants. After pulling over a landscaping truck for ignoring a stop sign at 10:20 a.m. on Countrywood Trail, officers found several of the workers did not have proper identification. The matter was referred to immigration officials. April 5 -- Rear-end crash. Police cited a Streetsboro man for assured clear distance after they said he struck another Streetsboro man's vehicle from behind at 12:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Aurora-Hudson Road. No damage estimate was given. April 8 -- Lot collision. Police said a collision occurred at about 3 p.m. between an Aurora woman and Aurora man in an Aurora High School parking lot.
