FIRST BAPTIST

Men's basketball is offered Mondays, with an open gym from 7 to 9 p.m. for ages 16 and older.

My First School preschool is taking enrollment for children 16 months to 5 years old for the 2008-09 school year. If interested, call 330-562-8070 or visit the church Web site at www.fbcaurora.org

A movie night will be March 21 at 7. The movie is "The Passion of The Christ."

Tonight (March 19), AWANA will meet at 6:30 to hear missionary Dean Birdsall. There will be a coed Bible study at the same time for parents. It focuses on the Gospel of Luke.

OUR LADY CATHOLIC

A Tenebrae Mass will be tonight (March 19) at 7:30 and a Mass of the Last Supper will be March 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Good Friday services will be March 21 at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and an Easter vigil will be March 22 at 8 p.m. There will be no 5 p.m. Mass on March 22.

Easter Sunday Masses will be at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and noon.

Because several parish youth are interested in performing "Godspell" in June, a director is needed. Sue Rose will handle the music. If interested in volunteering time to direct, contact Karen Yash at the parish office.

Some other coming activities are: March 20 -- MOMS at 9:30 a.m. and Spirited Seniors at noon. Rosary is offered each weekday at 9:45 a.m.

HOPE LUTHERAN

Hope's nursery school will have an open house April 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and April 18 from 9 to 11 a.m.

The men's Bible study will gather March 24 at 7:15 a.m. at Dan Coleman's home on Maple Lane to continue the study of Daniel.

The couples and links Bible study will meet April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of the Richners on Hanes Road. "Christianity: The First Three Centuries," a video series by Dr. Paul L. Maier, is the discussion focus.

Traditional worship is Sundays at 8:15 a.m., with adult Bible class at 9:15 and contemporary worship and children's Sunday school at 10:15. A service takes place Fridays at 10:30 a.m. at Independence Village. The AA group meets Saturdays at 8:30 p.m.

KOL CHADASH

Students and adults of all ages from Congregation Kol Chadash have been practicing for the Purim Schpeil (play) that is a traditional part of the Easter holiday season.

The congregation at 6545 SOM Center Road will celebrate Purim with a dinner March 21 at 6 p.m., followed by a service full of laughs and jokes and a "Dr. Seuss" play re-enacting the story of this holiday, which celebrates Queen Esther saving her people.

LORD OF LIFE LUTHERAN

A Maundy Thursday service will be March 20 at 7:30 p.m. with Holy Communion.

A Good Friday service with Stations of the Cross will be March 21 at noon at the gazebo in downtown Chagrin Falls, and another service will be at 7:30 p.m. with combined choirs performing "Saven Words of Love."

On Easter, a service will be at sunrise at the boat dock at LaDue Reservoir, along with Auburn Community Church.

Other services are at 8:15 and 11 a.m., including Holy Communion, while an Easter brunch hosted by the Lifeliters will be at 9:30. There will be no Sunday school, FLY or other adult programs.

A group from the church will leave March 23 at 4 p.m. to go to East Biloxi, Miss. The group will return March 30.

On March 20, the church will offer a meal, footwashing and communion at 6 p.m., followed by a tenebrae service at 7. On Easter, there will be a sunrise service at 9 a.m. and brunch at 10. The regular service will be at 10:30 a.m.

On March 21, the Rev. Jess Engle will participate in a Good Friday service from 1 to 3 p.m. at Greater Avery AME Church in Wade Park in Cleveland. He will be one of seven ministers bringing "The Seven Last

Words of Christ." A fish fry for $1 per person will follow.

Women of the church are invited to a spring tea and fashion show April 5 at 3 p.m. Reservations are due by March 30.

Cost is $5 and a free will offering will be taken. The fashion show will feature wedding dresses provided by ladies from the church. For more information, contact Gloria Schwartz or Annette Balis.

CHURCH IN AURORA

A Maundy Thursday service will be March 20 at 7:30 p.m. Easter services will be at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. The church office will be closed March 21. The Nutcracker Sweets jury will meet tonight (March 19) and March 26 at 7 p.m.
