AURORA MENNONITE The pastors will lead studies on books by best-selling authors John Elderedge and Stasi Elderedge, and invite the community to attend. Pastor Jess Engle will lead a men's class on "Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul" and Pastor Naomi Engle will lead a women's class on "Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul." HOPE LUTHERAN The couples and links Bible study will gather tonight (March 12) at the home of Lynn and Andy Richner on Hans Road. For details, call 330-562-6841. PARKSIDE CHURCH The church on Pettibone Road in Bainbridge Township will host a Living Hope Conference for Women presented by Moody Bible Institute April 11 and 12. Cost is $40 per person, which includes lunch. Tickets must be purchased at www.MoodyConferences.com or by calling 1-888-824-8246. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Guest speakers include Lisa Harper, author and Bible scholar; Carol Kent, author and lecturer; Dr. Linda, Mintle, marriage-family therapist; Eva Self, author and worship leader; and Sara Groves, songwriter and musician. The conference will be hosted by Anita Lustrea and Melinda Schmidt, hosts of Midday Connections, a daily radio talk show on the Moody Broadcasting Network. VALLEY PRESBYTERIAN The church will host the final Chagrin Valley Council of Churches' midweek Lenten soup supper and service tonight (March 12) at 7:30. Palm Sunday will be observed March 16, Maundy Thursday on March 20 and Easter Sunday on March 23. On the latter date, the One Great Hour of Sharing offering will be received. Fair Trade coffee and chocolate sales will take place March 16 during fellowship time. A Wear Your Jeans to Church day will be April 20, with volunteers needed to help clean up around the church and grounds. The annual youth rummage sale will be April 26 and 27. Items are needed and can be brought in Sunday evenings or by calling Molly Moore to schedule a dropoff time. LORD OF LIFE LUTHERAN A pajama party for youngsters will be tonight (March 12) at 6:30. The Fly group will have a movie night March 14 at 7, and Palm Sunday services will be March 16. The LOL theater group will attend "42nd Street" on April 4 at Kenston High School. Group members Torry Treu, Sally Hucker and Mattias Treu are featured in the play. An Easter-spring break mission trip to Biloxi, Miss., is planned from March 23 to 30. A deposit of $75 is due by March 15. The LOL children's choir musical "Living Inside Out in an Upside Down World" will be April 27. Rehearsals are under way. LAKEVIEW CHAPEL A dedication service for new babies and families in the congregation is planned March 16 at 10:45 a.m. Nursery and kids church is available for infants to fifth-graders. Sunday school classes are at 9:340 a.m. Activities for children and adults are offered Wednesday evenings. CHURCH IN AURORA The Women's Guild will meet today (March 12) at 11:30 a.m. to disperse the 2007 Nutcracker Sweets money. The Guild's board will gather at 10. The 3-H Evening Group will meet March 13 at 6:30. An American Red Cross bloodmobile will be at the church March 17 from 1 to 7 p.m. A silver tea will be March 16. Signups are still possible for food donations. UNITED METHODIST The children's program will be Palm Sunday (March 16) On Maundy Thursday (March 20), a Last Supper drama will be presented at 7 and communion will be offered. The choir will perform "The Shaw of the Cross" on Good Friday (March 21) at 7 p.m. Resurrection of the Lord will be celebrated Easter Sunday (March 23) at 10:30 a.m. OUR LADY CATHOLIC PSR students will present live stations of cross March 14 at 7 p.m. PSR will not be in session March 23 to 25, but will return March 30. Recently baptized were Avery A. Dixon, Olivia R. Heysek, Dante Y. Lozano and Elena K. Lozano. March 16 is hospitality Sunday, with coffee and doughnuts available after the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and noon Masses. Other coming events are: Tonight (March 12) -- Mysteries of the Rosary by Sister Rose Anne Krantz at 7 p.m.; March 13 -- small faith community at 9:45 a.m., Spirited Seniors at noon and choir practice at 7:30 p.m. March 14 -- Stations of the cross at 3 and 7 p.m.; March 5-16 -- JMJ book sale. March 16 -- religious education for grades 6 to 8 at 9:30 a.m., RCIA at 9:40, religious education for preschool and grades K-1, co-op nursery and children's liturgy of the word at 10:30 and youth ministry at 5 p.m. FIRST BAPTIST The Celebration Choir will perform an Easter cantata March 16 at 10:30 a.m. Youths can participate in Lifesource on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. A movie night will be March 21 to see "The Passion of the Christ." AWANA for youths meets Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., with coed Bible study is at 6:45. The latter covers the Gospel of Luke and is led by Bill Carr and Senior Pastor Keith Missel. Comments
