BONNIE REE SWANEY

Respiratory therapist

Mass of Christian burial was celebrated March 7 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Aurora for Bonnie Ree Swaney, 65, who died March 3.

Born March 23, 1942 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Marie (Pokea) Baynes. A resident of Aurora from 1978 to 1998, she had lived in the Mantua area since 1998.

She was employed as a respiratory therapist for 28 years at Bedford Hospital of the University Hospitals System, and enjoyed refurnishing furniture and frequenting flea markets.

She was a former member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Solon.

Survivors include son Jason Swaney of San Francisco; daughters Tammy (Richard) Lingro of Mantua and Dawn (Steve) Farley of Troy Township; five grandchildren; twin brothers Dalton Baynes of Aurora and Denton Baynes of Solon; and sisters Tracey Mickey of Brecksville and Joanne Barrett of Florida.

Green Funeral Home in Mantua handled arrangements. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township.

Professor and engineer

Services were March 8 at the Church in Aurora for James R. Jeromson Jr., 84, of Aurora, who died March 4.

He graduated from Case School of Applied Science with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering ad was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, Tau Beta Pi, Theta Tau, Blue Key and society of Sigma Xi.

During World War II, he was an ensign in the U.S. Naval Academy and chief engineering officer on a destroyer escort in the Pacific Theater.

He was a professor of machine design at Case Institute of Technology and later a senior research engineer at TRW.

He joined Weatherhead Co. as chief engineer and later become vice president of research and engineering. When Dana Corp. acquired Weatherhead, he was appointed vice president of product planning for the vehicular group.

He also served as director of the Society of Automotive Engineers and was the holder of 26 U.S. and foreign patents in the automotive and industrial fields.

After retiring from Dana, he served as a consultant for Milbar Corp. of Chagrin Falls and was later vice president of research and development.

Survivors include his sons James R. III and Jeffrey T. (Susan) Jeromson. His wife of 56 years, Florence (Phillips) preceded him in death.
