AURORA MENNONITE Wrestlers appreciation Sunday will be observed March 9 at the 10:30 a.m. service. Area wrestlers and their families are invited. Joe and Jim Boardwine, state wrestling champions from Streetsboro, and coach Jim Kuchta, a member of a Streetsboro state champion team, will speak. The wrestlers and parents are welcome to stay for lunch at noon. PARKSIDE CHURCH Parents in Crisis will begin a 13-week series March 6 at 7 p.m. in Room 228 at the Pettibone Road church. It is a care group that provides Biblical instruction, encouragement and mutual support for parents of teenagers or young adults who are in a rebellious and destructive lifestyle. It is open to the public with strict requirements of confidentiality There is no charge. HOPE LUTHERAN A fundraiser for the building fund will be Feb. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. Children ages 2 to 10 will enjoy hot chocolate, juice, popcorn and snacks. A contribution of $5 per hour/per child is asked. Registration forms are in Linda Lawyer's box in the office or can be obtained by calling 330-562-8260. For more information on participating in the church's Relay For Life effort, call Dan Coleman at 330-562-9017. Couples Bible study will meet March 12 in Lynn and Andy Richner's home. LAKEVIEW CHAPEL The message for the March 2 worship service at 10:45 a.m. is "Chivalry Is Still Alive - Boaz." Nursery and kids church will be available for infants through fifth-graders. Classes for youths and adults begin at 9:30. Youths meet Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m. and adults at 7. A men's Bible study meets Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. Lakeview's Web site is www.lakeviewchapelaurora.org. The youth group will join hundreds of other teenagers from the area for an evening with the Cavaliers on Feb. 29 sponsored by the Greater Cleveland Youth for Christ and Campus Life. BAINBRIDGE UCC Easter lilies can be ordered for $7.50 for a 6-inch pot until March 9. Forms can be placed in the secretary's mail slot, given to any worship committee member, placed in the offering plate or mailed to the church. Donations are needed for the annual spring crafts show March 15. Tables, pop and sealed items should be taken to the church by March 14 and food items by early March 15. Chagrin Valley Council of Churches' Lenten series continues on Wednesdays and the Bainbridge UCC will host the March 5 gathering at 6:30 p.m. Valley Presbyterian will host on March 12. A Maundy Thursday service will be March 20 at Bainbridge UCC at 7:30 p.m., and Stations of the Cross will be March 21 at noon at the gazebo in downtown Chagrin Falls. Lord of Life Lutheran will host a Good Friday Lenten cantata March 21 at 7:30 p.m. Joshua Chenoweth is the new choir director. He has a music degree from Kent State University. The next Ladies Auxiliary luncheon will be March 9. The knitting group has sent prayer shawls to friends and family members. The church is conducting a fundraising activity with Malley's Chocolates. Sue Johnson is coordinator, and she needs orders by March 7 or 8. The Geauga County Cooperative Ministry is offering four $1,000 Housmann-Holmes scholarships for college-bound students. Applications are due by March 31. FIRST BAPTIST The church's Celebration Choir will perform an Easter cantata titled "In Christ Alone" March 16 during the 10:30 a.m. service. Children can participate in AWANA Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.. A coed Bible study also meets at the same time covering the Gospel of Luke. Youths participate in LifeSource on Tuesday evenings. WORLD PRAYER DAY Some residents of the campus of Anna Maria of Aurora will participate in World Day of Prayer on March 7 at the Church in Aurora. The celebration is a global, ecumenical movement of informed prayer and prayerful action organized and led by Christian women. CHURCH IN AURORA Mission for the month of March is the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland. The church will celebrate its bicentennial in 2009. All ideas for the celebration should be forwarded to the Rev. Kevin Horak. "Building Together" will be the theme for the March 2 youth group gathering from 7 to 9 p.m. The 30-hour famine will be observed March 8 and 9.
