by Don Jovich Reporter Aurora -- The Mantua-Shalersville Chamber of Commerce hosted a special event Jan. 29 to meet and greet its newest member, James Place Wine Bar. Owner James Mocny said he has been up and running in Aurora for the past five months and added, so far, things are going great. "This is a really great community," Mocny said. "We have a convenient location in Aurora and we're just down the street from Mantua." Mocny, a resident of Mantua and former owner of the Wine Market Cafe, said he welcomes area patrons to stop in and try some of their award-winning wines. James Place is located at 271 E. Garfield Road. Mantua Chamber secretary Joan Sweet said the group is pleased to have James Place as a member and wished them success in their new endeavor. "We're very pleased to have them as a new business member and we wish them all the best," she said. The wine bar offers a variety of 35 wines from around the world, along with sparkling and dessert wines and a full-service bar. Wine connoisseurs also can purchase wine to go or sample their selections on site. Hours of operation are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdays to Thursdays and from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
