CHURCH IN AURORA

January Spires are available on the Hunt table in the Great Hall, and 2008 offering envelopes are available on the card table in the Great Hall.

Orders will be taken by the workcamp crew on Sundays in January for the sub sandwich fundraiser slated for Super Bowl Sunday.

The 3-H Circle will gather Jan. 4 at 9:30 a.m. in fellowship hall to make care pillows for nursing homes. Needles, white thread and scissors are needed. For details, call Marion Tarbell at 330-571-4500 or Pat Way at 330-673-7917.

The Nutcracker Sweets committee will meet Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. For details, call Joni Hanson at 330-562-6261.

BAINBRIDGE UCC

The Growth Group will conclude its sessions Jan. 9 and 16 at 7 p.m. in the church's lounge. Anyone is invited to attend.

Some coming events are: Wednesdays -- Heart Afire at 6:30 p.m.; Dec. 3 -- rug hookers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursdays -- choir practice at 7:45 p.m.; Mondays -- HUBS from 6:30 to 10 p.m. and Boy Scouts at 7:30 p.m.; Tuesdays -- Bible studies at 10 a.m. and AA open meetings at 8 p.m.

CHAPEL-TINKERS CREEK

On Jan. 6, the church starts a new series on the core values of simplicity, authenticity, service and story during the morning worship at 10:30 a.m. at Streetsboro Middle School.

On Jan. 16, Wednesday programming for children, youths and adults resumes at 6:45 p.m. at the middle school. A women's Bible study and a class on integrating science and religion are new offerings.

Youth group ski day will be Jan. 21, followed by a winter youth retreat Feb. 15-16 at Camp Carl in Ravenna. For details on all activities, visit www.tinkerscreek.com.

OUR LADY CATHOLIC

The volunteer appreciation dinner will be Jan. 11, with hors d'oeuvres served at 6:45 p.m. and dinner at 7:15. Highlights of the past year will be given. Reservations are due by Jan. 8.

RSP classes resume Jan. 6 to 8. A First Reconciliation retreat for parents and children will be Jan. 16. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be observed Jan. 23. A confirmation session will be Jan. 13 at 6 p.m.

Other coming events are: Jan. 3 -- small faith community at 9:45 a.m., Spirited Seniors at noon and choir practice at 7:30 p.m.

Jan. 6 -- religious education for grades 6 to 8 at 8:45 a.m., RCIA at 9:40 and religious education for preschool and grades K and 1, co-op nursery and children's liturgy of the word will be at 10:30.
