SAM J. COMANDATORE

Butcher for food firm

Services were Dec. 17 at St. Rita Church in Solon for Sam J. Comandatore Sr., 82, of Aurora, who died Dec. 13 at Bedford Medical Center.

Born May 7, 1925 in Cleveland, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and then worked as a butcher for Retail Foods Co.

Survivors include his children Kathleen, Mario, James and Sam Jr. (Connie); 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Giacomazzo.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mario and Santina Comandatore, wife Elenora (Cardarelli) and siblings Fred, Nasher, Jimmy and Frances Marzullo.

Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. Ferfolia Funeral Home in Sagamore Hills handled arrangements.
