ROBERT G. LAICK

Was the uncle of three

Visitation and services were at Redmon Funeral Home and burial was at All Saints Cemetery for Robert G. Laick, 61, who died Dec. 7.

Born in Pennsylvania, he was a longtime area resident.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Laick Lindley.

Survivors include brother and sister-in-law Matthew and Rose Laick of Streetsboro; nieces Deena (Mark) Bugara of Garfield Heights and Doreen (John) Papesh of Aurora; nephew Matthew Laick of Streetsboro; cousins Rita (Jim) Selesky, Barbara Ann (Larry) Stepp, Joe (Lovey) Kish and Corey Haines; aunt Pat Kish; and several other relatives.

DONALD R. CAHILL

Was insurance executive

Services were Dec. 7 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church for Donald R. Cahill, 77, of Aurora, who died Dec. 3 at Southpointe Hospital.

Born Aug. 17, 1930 in Chicago, he was a retired insurance executive for the Hartford and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy S. (Soich); daughters Maureen McAuliffe (John, deceased) and Dolores Prosser (James, deceased); and 15 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lillian Cahill and daughter Patricia Murphy and son-in-law James.

Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Ferfolia Funeral Home in Sagamore Hills.

MARY K. BUSCH

Reliance Electric worker

Services were Nov. 26 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Aurora for Mary K. (Reiter) Busch, 92, of Aurora, who died Nov. 14 at Kensington Care Center in Aurora.

Born in Cleveland, she had worked at Reliance Electric in that city.

Survivors include her daughter Mary Lee (John) Petranic; grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas and Anthony; and four nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Peter and brothers Michael Reiter and William Roberecki.

Her body was cremated, and the remains were placed in All Saints Cemetery. St. John Funeral Home in Bedford handled arrangements.

WILLIAM T. SPROLE

Retiree from Goodyear

Services were Dec. 7 at Christ Church Episcopal in Hudson for William T. Sprole, 84, of Aurora, who died Dec. 1 at Hospice of Summa at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron.

Born April 13, 1923 in Cranford, N.J., he retired in 1988 after 35 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., where he was manager and government liaison.

He was a staff sergeant/paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action in the Philippines on Feb. 10, 1945.

He also was an active member of Christ Church Episcopal in Hudson for more than 42 years.

Survivors include his wife Carol of Aurora; son William T. (Sue) Sprole III of Bulverde, Tex.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother Frank A. Sprole of Darien, Conn.

The Revs. Brian S. Suntken and M. Kathryn Rackley officiated at the funeral. Burial was at Cemetery No. 4 in Lovell, Maine.

Donations are suggested to the church or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements were handled by Burr Funeral Home in Chardon.

ALYCE MAE MOLEDOR

Native of Geauga Lake area

Services were Dec. 5 at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield for Alyce Mae Moledor, 72, of Kent, who died Dec. 1 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.

She was born Aug. 24, 1935 in Cleveland to William and Emily M. (Becker-Burns) Haman II of Geauga Lake.

She worked at F.W. Woolworth in Shaker Heights, Eastwood Motel and Glen Morris Apartments in Kent and the Holiday Inn in Brimfield.

She was a member of St. Patrick Church from 1955 to 1964 and 2005 to the present, where she and her husband Gerald were married in 1955. She was a member of St. Peter of the Fields from 1964 to 2005.

In addition to her husband, survivors include sons Bruce (Michele) of Middleburg, Fla., and Dwight (Stacy) of Kent; daughter Deborah (Donald) Sartin of Brimfield; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers William Haman III and Larry Haman of Warren; and sisters Linda (Robert) Quarry of Aurora and Luella Mathis of Ravenna.

Memorials contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.

Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent handled arrangements.
