At its June 26 meeting, the Aurora Board of Education adopted a final permanent appropriations resolution for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017 and a permanent appropriations resolution for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018.
According to Treasurer Bill Volosin, the final actual financial numbers for fiscal year 2017 will be available later in July after the district closes and balances out its accounts. He added the general fund appropriated amounts are greater than the actual final expenditures.
The current amended appropriations show $35.14 million in the general fund and $42.12 million in all funds.
Other than the general fund, the breakdown is as follows: special revenue, $1.63 million; debt service, $2.5 million; capital projects, $721,345; enterprise funds, $953,754; internal service, $843,373; and fiduciary and agency funds, $320,935.
In special revenue, the highest category is the athletic fund at $546,167, while the next highest is IDEA Part B grants at $513,545.
Under debt services, $985,718 is from the 1994 bond retirement and $1.52 million is from the 2008 bond retirement. The 1994 bond now has been retired.
The enterprise funds breakdown is $859,510 for food services and $94,243 for uniform school supplies.
The permanent appropriations for fiscal year 2018 amount to $35.91 million in the general fund and $41.84 million in all funds.
Other than the general, the breakdown of funds is as follows: special revenue, $1.6 million; debt service, $1.43 million; capital projects, $784,375; enterprise, $945,000; internal service, $830,000; and fiduciary and agency funds, $335,175.
