1 -- Support Aurora High track teams
Some Aurora High male and female athletes advanced to the Division I regional track meet and will be in action today (May 24) and May 26. The meet takes place at Austintown Fitch High School. Action gets under at 5 p.m. All support is appreciated.
2 -- AHS class of 2017 commencement
Aurora High's class of 2017 will wind up its year May 25 when commencement takes place at 7 p.m. at Parkside Church on Pettibone Road in Bainbridge Township. Advanced tickets are required for rerlatives and friends attending the ceremony. Seniors will rehearse for the event in the morning and then attend the senior picnic at 11 a.m. at Sunny Lake Park's East Mennonite Road pavilion.
3 -- Look for books at library sale
The Friends of Aurora Memorial Library's next book sale will be May 27 during the library's operating hours in the gallery. The library is open Saturdays from 9 al.m. to 5 p.m. You can find a variety of books and other types of media at the sale.
4 -- Honor Aurora's deceased veterans
Remember Aurora's deceased veterans on Memorial Day (May 29). The American Legion will conduct a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in front of Barrington Town Square. A parade will follow to the cemetery, where the Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct its annual ceremony. All veterans are welcome to participate in the parade and ceremonies, and residents are encouraged to attend.
