Police Reports is a sampling of incidents responded to by the Aurora Police Department. It is not intended to be all-inclusive.
Trespassing: Two Akron male juveniles were charged with criminal trespassing April 30 at 3:20 p.m. after being found on posted private property. Their parents were notified and they were released.
Thefts: A person reported May 1 that about 20 shrubs were taken from a construction site on West Garfield Road. Estimated value was $500.
An Appaloosa Run couple reported May 5 that jewelry was missing from their home. It had an estimated value of $18,200.
Warrant pickup: A Cleveland man was transferred from Cuyahoga County sheriff's deputies to Aurora on May 3 for a failure to appear in court warrant. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.
Attempted fraud: A Pine Villa rail women reported May 3 that someone attempted to use her stolen driver's license and debit card to withdraw money from an account. Police said the transaction was declined and she did not suffer any financial loss.
Noise complaint: A Page Road woman reported May 5 she thought a loud noise was being made by a back-up alarm from a truck in the area. An officer investigated and could not determine where the noise was coming from.
Domestic dispute: A Kent woman reported May 7 that while delivering papers on Sycamore Drive, her Kent boyfriend refused her entry into her car. The man was taken to await pickup by another party, and the woman resumed her route.
Harassment: A Walnut Ridge rail man reported May 10 that grass clippings were being blown onto his deck from a landscaper cutting grass for the neighbor. Police advised the landscape to make sure no clippings were directed toward the complainant's home.
Collision: A Highland Hills man was cited for not driving in marked lanes April 28 at 2:35 p.m. after police said he turned into a driveway and struck an Aurora man's car on South Chillicothe Road. No injuries were reported.
Rear-end crashes: A Mantua woman was cited for assured clear distance May 2 at 5:20 p.m. after police said she struck an Aurora woman's from behind on East Garfield Road at Route 306. No injuries were reported.
A Streetsboro man was cited for assured clear distance May 3 at 5:30 p.m. after police said he struck a Garrettsville woman's car from behind on West Garfield Road at West Parkway Boulevard. No injuries were reported.
Open container: During a traffic stop May 6 on West Garfield Road, an officer spotted an open container of beer on the front passenger side floorboard and cited the Hudson driver for an open container. The driver was given field sobriety tests, but was found not to be under the influence.
Failure to yield: An Aurora male juvenile was cited May 4 at 6:10 p.m. after police said he turned from Route 43 onto Sycamore Drive and struck an oncoming Aurora man's vehicle, then careened into a Mayfield Heights woman's vehicle which was stopped at the traffic signal. The Aurora man was taken to Cleveland Clinic-Twinsburg for treatment.
Collision: A Reminderville woman was cited for not stopping at a stop sign May 5 at 10:55 a.m. after police said she attempted a turn from Aurora Lake Road and was hit by a Solon man's vehicle. An Aurora woman trying to avoid the collision then struck the rear of the Solon man's vehicle and the Reminderville woman's spinning vehicle struck the Solon man again. The Aurora woman was taken to University Hospitals-Portage and the Reminderville woman was treated at the scene.
