A small, fixed-wing aircraft made an emergency landing May 10 at around 9:20 p.m. on the former Eaton Corp. property in Aurora. According to the Aurora Police Department, pilot Mike Prosser was flying a Silver Hummel H15 single engine airplane at 3,000 feet when the engine lost power. He was able to locate a spot along South Chillicothe Road and successfully made an emergency landing. Prosser said he built the plane. He was in Aurora the next day working on the aircraft. Aurora PD said Prosser was not injured. He contacted Cleveland Hopkins Airport about the situation, then called police. He had departed from Geneva, and was flying without issue until the engine failed. Officers searched the aircraft and the local area for debris and damage, but nothing was located. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was also notified of the incident.
