5 THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK

1 -- Look for books at library sale

Today (May 10), the Friends of the Library will conduct one of its book sales during regular hours in Aurora Memorial Library's gallery. The library is open until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays. You can find a variety of books and other types of media at the sale.

 

2 -- Support sports teams in tourneys

Postseason play in getting under way for Aurora High varsity sports teams. You can support the athletes by attending today's (May 10) softball sectional game at 4:30 p.m. at home, a baseball sectional game May 12 at 4:30 p.m. at home and the district track meet May 17 and 19 at Austintown Fitch High. Keep in mind, the weather will determine whether the regularly scheduled games are played.

3 -- Tell mom you appreciate her

Mother's Day will be May 14. You can convey to your mom how much you appreciate her in a variety of ways. Preschoolers at Miller School will have a Mother's Day celebration on May 11, while several area churches will recognize mothers at May 14 services.

 

4 -- Set up for Aurora High's after-prom

The after-prom event for Aurora High students will follow the May 13 prom at about 11:30 p.m. at the high school. The prom is at Signature of Solon. Parents and other Aurora residents who support programs at the high school are needed to help set up for the after-prom May 12 from 5 to 10 p.m.

 

5 -- Learn what seniors did

Aurora High seniors are doing internships with various area businesses. On May 17, they will share their internship experiences with fellow students, parents and local residents at the annual senior internship symposium. It will be at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
