On May 4, the Aurora Pastors Fellowship will lead a 30-minute prayer service at noon at the Bicentennial Park gazebo near the library. All residents of Aurora are invited to join in to pray for the well-being of our town's and country's officials and peace and prosperity throughout the world.

2 -- Enjoy community theater's musical

"Brigadoon" is running on the Aurora Community Theatre stage. The musical by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe is set in the Scottish Highlands, where Brigadoon, a mysterious village, appears from the mist for just one day every 100 years. Performances will run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. through May 20, with 3p.m. shows on May 7 and 14.

3 -- See musical performances

Several Aurora school district musical groups have been presenting their spring concerts recently. Two Harmon School groups will take to the Aurora High auditorium stage in the next week -- the orchestra on May 4 at 7 p.m. and the band on May 9 at 7 p.m. Support of the musicians is much appreciated.

4 -- Donate blood, the gift of life

The need for blood to help patients in Northeast Ohio hospitals is always critical. Aurorans will have two opportunities to donate the gift of life next week. Bloodmobiles are scheduled May 8 from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Church in Aurora and May 9 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Christ Community Chapel.

5 -- Support AHS track teams

The Suburban League track and field meet will take place May 9 at 4 p.m. at Nordonia High in Macedonia, and the Auruoar Greenmen boysw and girls teams will be on hand, seeking to contend for the American Conference 2017 championship. All the AHS athletes appreciate fans' support, so get out and enjoy the outdoors as well as the competition.
