Aurora voters overwhelmingly supported a 5.9-mill additional tax levy for the school district today (May 2).
According to final but unofficial vote counts from the Portage County Board of Elections, Issue 4 passed 1,857 to 1,130, a 62 percent to 38 percent margin.
Aurora's school levy and an additional school levy for the Ravenna schools were the only two of five school issues that passed in Portage County.
A levy in the Crestwood district failed by just 21 votes, according to final but unofficial figures, while levies in the Field and Waterloo districts went down by subsantial margins.
There were no countywide issues on the ballot.
