Aurora Police Reports-April 19

Theft: A business on South Chillicothe Road reported April 5 that an iPhone awaiting shipment was taken by someone. The value was $747.

Domestic dispute: An Aurora man was charged with domestic violence April 7 in the Geauga Lake area after police said he made threats of physical harm to his mother and a younger brother. He was taken tot he Portage County Jail.

Argument: Officers responded to a hangup call April 7 coming from a Geauga Lake area location. It was determined a verbal dispute occurred between a married couple and there were no threats of physical harm. The parties agreed to get along for the remainder of the evening.

Fraud: A Millpond Road woman reported April 9 she suspected identity theft from an online company. Police said she canceled the credit card she used for the transaction.

Warrant pickups: A Cleveland woman was transferred from Geauga County custody to Aurora on April 7 on a warrant for failing to appear in court for a driving under suspension violation. She was taken to the Portage County Jail.

A Mogadore woman was transferred from Geauga County custody to Aurora on a warrant for failing to appear in court for a theft offense. She was released after paying a bond.

Purse found: A man found a purse on a local street April 10 and turned it into the police station. The owner was notified and police kept the purse until the owner claimed it.

Plates confiscated: A routine registration check April 6 yielded a confiscation order for the vehicle's plates. The vehicle belonged to a Hiram man, who was cited for driving under suspension. The vehicle was towed and the driver was picked up by a family member.

 

SOLON INCIDENT

Solon police arrested a 24-year-old Aurora woman April 7 on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to control and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had spun out on Route 422 eastbound.

The vehicle was in the median, but the woman was uninjured. The officers detected an odor of marijuana and an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, found marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and field sobriety tests indicated impairment, according to their report.
